Mary Jo Thorson, MA, LCPC, NCC owner of Creative Counseling, PLLC

Hi! Welcome to my page and I’m glad you are here.

I love working with adults that feel they are weighed down in life by anxiety, depression or something else. Together, we will work on a plan so you can live your best life.

I’ve always had a dream of opening up my own private practice and it finally came true last year. What I love most about being a therapist is that I get to walk beside my clients in their life journey and see the amazing changes that are made. After going through a divorce many years ago, I started leading divorce recovery groups, which led to leading other groups. I then got my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment methods which include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Walk and Talk Therapy, Positive Psychology, and more.

When I’m not in the office I am walking my dogs, working out or hanging out with my family and friends.
